Correct, Comprehensive, & Consistent
No
two patients are alike. And people's dental needs change with age
and with the various seasons of life. That's why good dentistry needs
to be both correct and comprehensive. CORRECT in that we determine an
appropriate plan to help you meet your particular goals and maintain excellent
oral health. And COMPREHENSIVE in that we provide everything from preventive,
restorative, and periodontal disease services to cosmetic and appearance-related
services. But, what really pulls it all together is our ability to be
CONSISTENT: offering the same level of expert care and personalized attention
whether you're here for a routine check-up or a complex procedure. That's
how we define expert delivery. Our services are listed below.
Preventive Services
Prevention really is the key to long-term dental health and taking good
care of your teeth is also an investment in your overall physical well-being.
That's why we do such thorough check-ups-finding decay, removing tartar,
and taking all the time needed to answer your questions. Plus, we offer
careful, complete instruction on hygiene habits and a periodontal therapy
program for preventing periodontal disease. Finally, we'll do what's necessary
to stop problems before they happen, like applying dental sealants to
prevent cavity formation on chewing surfaces or recommending a custom-fit
nightguard to prevent the dangerous wear and tear caused by clenching
and grinding.

- Snoreguards - We offer the Thornton Adjustable Positioner (TAP). The
TAP is an oral mandibular repositioning appliance that alleviates snoring
and sleep apnea by holding the mandible forward during sleep to prevent
the soft tissues of the throat and tongue from collapsing into the airway
and suffocating the sleeper.
Restorative Services
To maintain a healthy bite for the long run, it's often necessary to
first restore strength and structure to the teeth. That's why we offer
a complete list of restorative services, using the latest technology and
materials to insure that we make lasting improvements in your smile. For
example, we only use composite resins to fill cavities because the bond
formed between the resin and the tooth is stronger, more durable, and
provides greater long-term protection against bacterial re-invasion compared
to silver fillings. Our porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns are bonded, not
cemented-reducing the chance of cracking; our implant-retained dentures
provide a lifetime of retention. In addition, for procedures like root
canals, we use a revolutionary new computerized system that improves and
shortens the treatment, while keeping the patient comfortable. Plus, Dr.
Swedenburg is highly trained in implant dentistry, using the latest, proven
techniques to restore solid foundations to patients with missing teeth.

Cosmetic Services
These days, there are many ways to re-shape and/or brighten your smile,
enhance your confidence and give you a whole new outlook on life. That's
why we stay current with the most up-to-date materials and techniques,
giving you a number of choices for achieving your goals. For example,
we can reshape individual teeth with the latest generation of virtually
invisible tooth-colored resins; use bonding or porcelain veneers to change
your smile's bite, shape, and color; and whiten your teeth with either
an in-office laser technique, or with an at-home treatment plan.

Periodontal Therapy Services
Periodontal
care is essential for dental health so we spend whatever time necessary
to help you achieve healthy gums. We also use the latest techniques and
equipment to ensure the treatment is minimally invasive and to be sure
that the results are long-lasting. For example, we meticulously document
every filling, every concern, and every change in every tooth. We clean
deeply and regularly, reducing your risk of bone and tooth loss and stopping
any that has begun. We provide a detailed explanation of the extent of
any existing problems so we can effectively plan how to tackle them. Also,
if needed, we use laser surgery to keep the process more comfortable and
promote faster healing.

Oral Surgery Services
Occasionally, a diseased or damaged tooth requires extraction to prevent
further problems with the remaining teeth. And, of course, it's nearly
always advisable to remove wisdom teeth. That's why we're well-trained
in oral surgery, carrying out general extractions and wisdom teeth extractions
with skill and care.

Special Technology
We
view technology as a tool for providing more effective, efficient care.
To that end, we strive to stay current with the latest techniques, materials,
and equipment. If there's something that will genuinely improve our ability
to serve you, we will have it. For example, we use air abrasion in place
of drills to conserve more tooth structure. We also use an automated,
rate-controlled anesthesia system for all medication injections to keep
our patients as comfortable as possible. Our rotary endo technique allows
us to perform root canals quickly, precisely, and with greater ease; our
laser makes it possible to do less invasive surgery and more effective
whitening. Our intra-oral camera, digital x-ray, diagnodent technology
and various magnification devices all serve to improve our ability to
detect and scrutinize problems. And finally, our computerized, virtually
paperless office allows us to spend less time on administration and more
time with you.
