We recommend setting up an initial meeting with our dentist so you can get to know one another and you can ask any questions you may have. During this meeting, our dentist will answer your questions and address any concerns, while providing you an overview of the treatments we offer.
New Patient Paperwork
If you are satisfied with the outcome of your initial meeting, our team will schedule your first appointment for a teeth cleaning and check-up. Prior to this appiontment, you'll need to fill out some new patient paperwork that details your dental/medical history and your insurance informaiton. We recommend arriving 20 minutes early so you have ample time to complete these forms, or you can download them in advance by clicking the following link:
After reviewing your dental health history, our dentist will examine your gums, teeth and mouth to evaluate the state of your oral health. The dentist will make note of any signs of cavities or gum disease and discuss treatment options with you if necessary. Following the examination, you'll receive a thorough teeth cleaning. This process removes any buildup of plaque or tartar that may lead to decay or disease.
After your exam, our dentist will take a x-rays of your mouth to view any oral complications not visible to the naked eye. This process allows the dentist to look for problems like damaged tooth roots, impacted teeth and bone deterioration. Our digital x-rays are fast and safe, so your appointments are short and radation exposure is minimal.
At the conclusion of your first cleaning and exam, our dentist will discuss treatment recommendations with you based on what was found. For example, if you have a cavity, the dentist may recommend scheduling a follow-up appointment to get a filling. Rest assured our dentist will explore all available treatment options with you so together you can select the one that's most appropriate for both your dental health and your budget.
After meeting our dentist at Plano Smile Design in Plano, Texas, and discussing possible dental treatments in detail, we will schedule a follow-up appointment at your convenience. This follow-up appointment may be for treatments recommended or simply for your next cleaning and exam, as they're recommended every 6 months.
